Are they open for inside dining?
Bennington has the best diner in 300 miles!
The food is as wonderful as ever. It is overall shappy-looking and uninspiring, but the food- there is nothing like it. This diner is a Bennington Icon.
MoreGreat old time diner serving comfort food. Lots of choices. We always stop here when in Vermont for Battle Days. Reasonable prices. Cash only so no credit cards.Open faced roast beef with real mashed potatoes is awesone. So is their roast turkey.Breakfast served all day. Always crowded at breakfast. Where the locals eat. For good food and huge portions...a must stop.
MoreGreat little restaurant fun place to eat food is good
Great place to stop and eat! Friendly staff and great food! An original 50s diner with a hometown feel. Like eating from moms kitchen. Loved it!!!
MoreI love the old subway car diner. I had a open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and it was very good. Great service - it was definitely a family owned feel.
MoreIt's a busy little place. Had a good breakfast. Staff was very nice. Nothing fancy but there's nothing wrong with that.
MoreAbsolutely amazing food. Holy yum. Such a cool experience too! Drove an hour out of our way to revisit
MorePlace was packed. The staff was working hard today. Funky little diner. Good breakfast. Love the individual jukeboxes. Would recommend.
MoreAmazing food. The waitstaff is always so nice and friendly.
Unique and one of a kind. The service and the food was just what I wished it would be.
MoreThe Blue Benn is a well preserved piece of America's past where you will get good food, great service, and a sense of community which is rare in today's society. Everything is pretty much the same as it was when it was built in the 40's to include the working Jukebox at each table. All very clean and in good repair. The place is tiny and very popular so expect a wait. The menu is surprisingly diverse and has both the expected classics as well as some interesting culinary adventures. I recommend the California Benedict. Also, bring cash as that is all they accept.
MoreThis dinner has been around since the 1920's and it's still in the same spot! The atmosphere is great, and stepping in the door, you swear for a few minutes you have time warped... and then you hear a familiar, but much more recent, song on the radio and you know you might still be in the latter half of the twentieth century... so you may not have traveled as far back as you thought!
MoreOur food was delicious! The decor, fantastic! We came from Wisconsin for a wedding and had this recommended, great place for anything your craving. Service was excellent!
MoreThis is a small, no frills diner...easy to find & easy to park. Food is tasty & menu basic. Many items are written on colored paper & pasted on the wall. No exotic herbs or fancy garnishes here! Staff friendly & oblidgeing. It's been around a long time & part of town history.
MoreGreat eggs over easy:)!!
The Blue Benn is literally my FAVORITE place to go out and eat. Not only do they serve the best variety of home style meals but honestly for a really fair price. The servers are also so welcoming and very laid back, they make you feel like you've known them for years even if you've just met. Just a really nice little place that reminds me of a time when things were more simple and people were more here in the now. If you haven't been then please do yourself a favor and try it out.
MoreI've recently returned to the area after 30 plus years away. Sadly I've been disappointed that most of my favorite places are gone or aren't like they used to be. The Blue Benn Dinner however is still excellent. Their food and service are the best. Thank you Blue Benn
MoreAwesome breakfast! Quaint establishment. I really liked this joint.
I love this place. I have been coming here for over 20 years. On the wall there are tons of specials. Don't be afraid to try them! Anything you get here will be fantastic. Their omelettes are also world class as well.
MoreWe were a party of 9 and had no problem. The place is Small but clean and the service is good. Food is also good for a reasonabley priced. Seems like a popular place with local diners. We would go back again.
MoreHidden gem for sure! A little worn on the outside but everything inside is delicious! Pro tip, order the cinnamon donut grilled with raspberry jam on the side. 😍After the donut I had a simple one egg, hash browns and toast meal. The egg was cooked perfect, and the hash browns were flavorful - maybe a tad salty.
Moreeverything about this diner is perfection. be sure to get a donut, and ask for it grilled!!
MoreBest diner you'll find in this small state. So many menu options and everything always tastes amazing. Staff is friendly and efficient. Love the Blue Benn.
MoreWonderful old school diner. We passed by while driving through Vermont to see family colors. Good was wonderful and so was the hospitality. Highly recommend.
MoreNice local restaurant. Huge Manu selection. Had breakfast here. Very tasty. Ordered cornbread french toast and two eggs, home fries and toast. Friendly staff, too.
MoreGood food. Great service.
I give 5 stars for the experience. Keep in mind it's a very small place. Dont eat here if you are in a hurry. Unless the bar is available you will have to wait for a table. I sit at the bar when I ate lunch here. Service was friendly and fast. It was a bustling little diner. Definitely taking a step back in time here. You can tell the countertops are worn down from years and years of thousands of elbows. A one of a kind place to eat.
MoreHuge menu selection -- the food is some of the best I've EVER had. Breakfast all day!
MoreDefinitely has unique menu choices i didn't expect. Very happily surprised
Delicious greasy spoon diner and I wouldn't have had it any other way! They only take cash so plan ahead.
MoreIf you like old railcar diners this is the place! Good food, great atmosphere and reasonable prices.
MoreThey only accept cash but this is one of the best places for breakfast you will ever go. You will have to wait at busy breakfast times but it is so worth it. Same waitresses for the past 20 years. Everything is good and they've even started to serve GF toast. I compare every diner I go to to this. I wish there were a way to give 5 plus stars.
MoreIt’s ok. Very popular but the pictures on the reviews looked better than the food actually served. They seem to use good ingredients and they are adequately prepared but I wasn’t blown away
MoreGreat place, we've been going here for many years. It's a must stop for us as we go north into New England. They have a monstrous menu that makes it hard to choose, as everything is fantastic. The breakfast items are the best, I especially love the buck wheat blueberry pancakes. My favorite lunch item is the hot turkey sandwich with fries and gravy on everything. A classic. The only downside to this place is it is small and fills up fast, plus they don't take credit cards. Well, worth the wait in any case.
MoreOnly negative is cash only. Food was GOOD. Reasonable prices and awesome ambience. Had a great time will come again. We got the breakfast special with eggs, hash, potatoes and toast. That was super good. Im hungry just thinking back 😂.
MoreThe vibes of this diner scream vintage. The staff are welcoming and friendly, treating you like an old friend/member of their family as soon as you walk in. Service-wise, there was no wait to be seated and my company and I had our orders taken as soon as we were seated with little-to-no wait to get our food. The food was delicious and the memory bittersweet, because we spent maybe 15 minutes eating. Awesome place to get a bite to eat and feel welcomed.
MoreIt was a journey back in time to the classic diner experience. We arrived for a late lunch and still had to wait for a table. Beware aware that the place is small so the booths are a tight squeeze for 4 adults, but there is plenty of parking. I was surprised by the extensive menu. And be sure to check out the board and the wall because it's not all on the printed menu. We all enjoyed our turkey burger, hamburger steak with all the fixings and a southwest-type sandwich. Not sure how I managed to save room for some strawberry-rhubarb crisp. Service was quick and friendly. Hope to come back for breakfast sometime. Although it is served all day. **cash only**
MoreThey have the best food. Everything I have ever eaten.there has been awesome! Love the corn beef Reuben
MoreGreat service and best home fries ever!!
Down home diner with a great history written on the menu.
Amazing food. Great service. An experience every time. Highly recommend the chicken parm, pot roast, blueberry pancakes, and the grilled donut with ice cream. Go there, you will thank me later!
MoreA good college town food spot with decent prices and good sized portions. There's a surprisingly large variety of dishes so you can satisfy just about anyone. Only drawback is that it's cash only
MoreFree range eggs on request, crispy toast, real maple syrup, thick pancakes with lots of blueberries...yum. Jukebox at the booths. Friendly service.
MoreYou can get the most delicious and creative food here, great, friendly service!
Great diner food. Breakfasts especially creative and hearty. Friendly service.
So glad you are still serving fabulous food in Bennington! This Jersey girl and her Jersey hubby were very happy to stop in for some great diner fare and hospitality a few years ago on vacation. Can’t wait to see you again! As diners go, we live just across the Hackensack River from the famous White Mana diner. Another unique favorite.
MoreClassic American diner experience. At least for this British visitor. Highly recommended. Food and service very good, with helpful and knowledgeable tips and advice from the waitresses for attractions and activities in the local area. YMMV if you are a local and have more experience of diner culture.
MoreDelicious dinner. Gluten free bread and options. Awesome service.
Came here on the recommendation of two different friends who didn't know each other. They told me to try the pancakes but was there at lunchtime. I tried the special fried haddock (it's so special that it is the special twice a week). Good catch to my friends (pun intended).
